The Monkey
This project was a long time in the making. I got to work with Justin Yates on some really unique packages to company the launch of his newest album. Check out the process along with some exclusive content and go check out the new album!
The Final Product
This is easily one of the largest projects I've been a part of. Working with Justin we set out to create a full range of products to support the launch of his new album. This project was a great collaboration between the arts and a great example of what can be done with a little ingenuity and determination. I am very proud to have been a part of this incredible album launch.
The Release
After all the ups and downs of the project it is surreal to see everything laid out in it's final packaging. I knew at the start it would be difficult run any large quantity on a small operation, and while some parts went smoothly others went worse than expected. Nevertheless they turned out incredible, if I do say so myself.

Design
Converting a 2D character into a 3D model is always a challenge. Fortunately this little guy had a great design already.
Most of the design work was a matter of keeping the spirit of the character right. Justin and I went back and forth to make sure we kept the design accurate to the original.
The final steps in the design were to make the cleanest print possible. I pushed the design as far as I could to print without supports.
Finding the right colors was the first hurdle in the physical products. It's surprising how an assortment of browns can be so different.
The cleanup process was essential for a good final product. Using multiple layers of primer and progressively finer sanding I was able to remove nearly all the layer lines from the final models.
